Reims was one of the cities most destroyed during the First World War.
Rebuilt in the 1920s, it boasts a wide variety of architecture, particularly art-deco !

The tour begins with a visit to the city of Reims, a symbol of reconstruction after the devastation of the First World War. The cathedral, partially destroyed by the bombardments, has been magnificently restored.

There are a number of emblematic sites to visit :

Fort de la Pompelle, which played a key role in the defence of Reims and now houses a museum displaying military artefacts.
The Verzenay Lighthouse, an astonishing structure set amid the Champagne vineyards. From its summit, a panoramic view lets you imagine the front lines and the organisation of troops during the war.
The Caverne du Dragon, a former underground quarry used by soldiers on both sides. This poignant tour highlights the harsh living conditions of the combatants, followed by a bus tour of the Chemin des Dames.
At the Marne 14-18 Interpretation Centre in Suippes, pupils will be able to explore a rich collection of testimonies and objects from the period. This modern centre offers an interactive and educational approach to the events of the Great War,
The Main de Massiges trenches, a remarkably well-preserved network of trenches where pupils can walk in the footsteps of the soldiers.
This trip is designed to provide pupils with an immersive and educational experience, plunging them into the heart of the history of the Great War, through memorable visits to key places of remembrance.
